MVP?

There are some writers and fans who have joined this whole Chris Paul for MVP fad, the problem I have with that is THESE WRITERS NEVER MENTION THAT: The 1-5 seeds in the West have pretty much the same record, but lets say that New Orleans and the Lakers end up within 2 wins of each other like they are now. That clearly means that Kobe should get the MVP because the Lakers have played 52 games without their 2nd and 3rd best players (Gasol and Bynum) and still have a similar record than the Hornets. What would be the Hornet's records if West and Chandler (or Peja) missed 52 games? There's actually a close answer to that "what if" question: Peja played 13 games last year and West missed 30 games last year and the Hornets didn't even make the playoffs.

Also, what hasn't been mentioned yet is Defense! Kobe Bryant will be on the all-nba defensive team again this year and Paul has yet to do that. If you look at truehoop on Monday Bullets where he links to the +/- numbers for every player and team, Kobe is 2nd in the league and Chris Paul isn't even in the Top 50! Kobe means more to his team winning and is significantly more important to his teams defense.

IF YOU WANT A MORE UNBIASED ANSWER TO THE MVP QUESTION, ASK YOURSELF...WHO DO MOST COACHES IN THE NBA, MOST PLAYERS IN THE NBA, AND MOST FANS OF THE NBA SAY IS THE BEST PLAYER AND MVP??.....THAT'S RIGHT...THEY SAY KOBE BRYANT!!
